Kathryn's first job as a teenager was working for large retailers as a visual merchandiser! Yep, she started in sales but her manager quickly recognized her talent as she began decorating the floor space. She naturally understood how visual merchandising impacted the consumers shopping experience and increased sales. After graduating high school, she attended the University of Arlington and received her basics certification in Interior Design. However, her while visual merchandising, she became interested in fashion and decided to also earn her cosmetologist degree. She had a successful six digit career owning her hair salon in Dallas in her 20's! That doesn't come easy in that industry. It takes an eye for detail, creativity, and excellent customer service. After 18 years in the industry she decided to sell her salon and travel the states full time in a 40 foot RV in her mid thirties.
She expressed her creativity behind the lens of a camera. After accidently developing a stunning photography portfolio, Kathryn moved to Austin and joined an art guild. she began showing her photography work and quickly gained art collectors. She won awards such as People’s Choice, Best in Show, and Second Place in an International competition. Her work was published in Origins and Wyoming Wildlife magazine. Her love for nature, texture, architecture, and attention to detail were apparent in her body of work.
In 2008 Kathryn was asked to take photos for the real estate market. With her combined background in visual merchandising, interior design, and color theory, she found herself making suggestions on how to improve the properties before photographing them. Little did she know this was staging homes. She then was asked to to attend a RESA conference (Real Estate Staging Association). This was the pivotal moment when she decided to align all her creative skills into one "Streamlined Vision." Kathryn opened Streamline Home Staging LLC in January of 2012. She staged homes for reputable home builders and real estate agents for several years.
As part of the staging industry, Kathryn was updating, repairing, and renovating properties to receive the highest return possible. She developed several working relationships with talented contractors and managed the projects from start to finish working essentially as a GC. This is what placed her on the map in the interior design industry. Since then, she has developed many returning customers.
Today, she remains hands on offering turnkey services from Interior Design, Project Management and Home Staging Services. She absolutely loves the design field and it shows!
Her hobbies are disk golf, fly fishing in Wyoming, painting abstracts, taking photos, Gardening, and sailing with her husband and dog.
